Windmill in Haarlem

I always dreamed of Holland as the land of tulips and windmills. Now I not only got to fulfill my dream but even painted this one! It was so much fun walking through this quaint town in the Netherlands and people were so kind and curious about watching the process.

Tulip Field #2

I painted this scene in oil on canvas board plein air from an outcropping in a quiet corner of the Keukenhof Gardens in the Netherlands on a day trip to the area from Amsterdam.  It depicts the beautiful tulip fields planted to replenish those needed to maintain the gardens as well as around the world.  Not only did they look beautiful, they smelled wonderful as well.

Draft Canal

This is an Acrylic painting I did on an art trip to Delft, Netherlands.  It was quite cold, hence the winter parka, but so nice to paint on site. There are canal throughout Holland and really made for a lovely reflective scene.

Sintra, Portugal

This is an Acrylic painting done on site in Sintra, Portugal which is a short drive from Lisbon. It was the picturesque home to castles and country estates of the wealthy inhabitants of the area.  I chose this view of this majestic castle nestled in the trees as seen from this spot overlooking the scene.

Europe On Canvas

I've had a constant dream of seeing, in person, my great-uncle's famous works in the Louvre and throughout France. Being a persistent person I finally realized that dream in spades! Yearly, I join other artists at a European destination to taste the food, the culture, and capture our experience live and in living color.

Here is an exhibition of those adventures as I interpreted on canvas. Many of the originals have sold. However, I've made high-quality giclée copies available in my store.
